Hi folks, I'm Nick Nicholson, small business owner and consulting engineer. I've been at this for a couple of years so far, but it hasn't been easy. I'm just now getting into the web page and hosting service business by tapping into other small businesses that I know and providing very low rates to people who cannot afford more. Having built only about six web pages, I'm not exactly an expert either, so low rates are appropriate.
Nick,
I've recently gone through major problems, with my largest client going belly up and not paying his bills, followed by my paying for a server, domain, web page, and three months of support, all of which have yet to materialze. I have to threaten the guy with charges of fraud to get him to do anything.
I built the following pages, starting with my own:
http://www.io.com/~nickpage
http://www.dredger.org
http://www.stevensassoc.com
All comments on improving the web sites are appreciated.

If you want to succeed, it will happen. One thing I'd suggest is to get your own domain name. http://www.io.com/~nickpage is not the best from a marketing point of view. Maybe something like NicksDesign.com or whatever is available. The good people at http://novaregister.com will help you get the best name that fits your business through their on-site Wizard. And it's only $38 for two years.
Best of Luck,
Mario
