Accounting
Yes. Today is that wonderful day for
businesses and all individuals in the US. The day to celebrate Uncle Sam
and taxes. At this time of year we take a very close look at the way we
handle our finances, the programs we use and the resources available. It
is never too late to review our accounting system and if your business is like
ours; there is always room for improvement in this area.
For this reason, we have researched many of the
sites offering tools and information to improve your business accounting
system.
Separating Your Home & Business
Finances
This is a must for home based business
owners. We found a self test to review how financially fit you are.
This same site offers a great financial series to help you get your books in
order.
Downloadable Accounting
Forms
Our research paid off when we found this
site. You can download general ledgers, sales, cash disbursement forms,
time management, expense reports and many other useful business forms to help
organize your records.
Accounting
Software
No program can replace a CPA. You'll need
someone to check the books and help with taxes. This site however will
help you review the many options available for handling your finances and making
tax time a little easier on you.
Two accounting products achieved Best Buy status by
PC world by combining broad appeal and good value. QuickBooks Pro is a
great choice if all you need is a single user package that demands very little
financial know-how on your part. If you want lots of accounting features
that you can share across a network, Peachtree Complete Plus Time and Billing
narrowly edged out MYOB Premier in the review at this site.
Cash
vs. Accrual Accounting
There are two basic accounting methods
available to most small businesses. Cash or accrual. We found a site
that reviews the pros and cons of each. Written very nicely in an easy to
understand way.
